CITC Supermarket

CITC Supermarket is on the Main Road close to Avarua town, a short distance from Avatiu Harbour. It is run by the Cook Island Trading Corporation (CITC), opened in 1999 and serves both retail and wholesale customers.

The shelves carry brands most New Zealand and Australian visitors know, such as Watties, Anchor, Griffins and Tip Top. There are fresh and frozen foods, dry goods, a butchery, deli and bakery lines, liquor and an eco-products range, plus organic, gluten-free and vegetarian lines such as Ceres Organics, Macro Organic Foods and Healtheries. Fresh produce is grown locally or airfreighted from New Zealand and Australia.

Hours are 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday; the store is closed on Sundays and public holidays (check before you go).
